Safety Rules

Equipment

Safety equipment is set up in the parking lot and in the food pantry to keep all clients and volunteers safe.  Safety must be something we all are aware of and try to practise.  We need to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Parking lot:

Watch for cars trying to pass in the parking lot.

Watch for non-clients who will be coming in the parking lot in the opposite direction to make food donations and deliveries.

For your own safety, REMAIN IN YOUR CARS.

Watch for individuals who may be walking between cars.

Building:

The building remains locked at all times to protect the volunteers who are working and  prevent someone from walking  up behind them.

Due to COVID, no one is allowed in the building.

Common Sense

All of us should use common sense when working around any doorways, electrical appliances and outlets.

Be very careful during rainy days when the warehouse floor is wet,.from opening and closing the outside doors.

Health

Masks and gloves are provided to all volunteers who want and require them to protect the volunteers and the clients.  If there is a client in the parking lot who appears sick or is coughing, ask the client if they are sick and if they are sick send them home.  If they have to have food on this date, move them out of line with the other clients and park them to the side and let the inside staff know that this client is sick and get them served and out of our parking lot.  If a client is just coughing, hand them a mask and gloves to protect the volunteers.  Whenever possible, the clients will receive items to keep them protected from

COVID

The food pantry volunteers are committed to staying healthy and not working when they are sick to be able to keep the food pantry open and safe for the clients who need our services.

Firearms & Weapons

No firearms or weapons are allowed on the property of the food pantry.  All clients and volunteers are asked to be courteous and thoughtful and if there is an issue, get the Executive Director immediately.  Bad language, rudeness and intimidation will not be allowed by any clients or volunteer.

IT IS THROUGH THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT THERE ARE WORKERS TO SERVE  WILLINGLY,  AND THERE ARE CLIENTS IN NEED, WHO WILL BE SERVED WITH COMPASSION AND LOVE!
